Designed with beautiful curvy letters in Japanese
うめ [oo-meh] means "plum blossom" in Japanese.
Top part is including "う” and two petals at the bottom is designed with "め".
Using a word, design its shape so I call this style "word picture".
Very unique design concept.
You can use this one as a conversation starter because the letters are well blended, nobody notices it's letter until you explain. Then you can communicate with jewelry.
Plum starts budding in the middle of winter and bloom at the end of the winter.
That's earlier then cherry blossoms so it's a symbol of spring.
In Japan, there are more than 12000 shrines called "Tenmangu", which are dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane who was a scholar in the Heian era. (D.C 794-)
Michizane loved plum trees very much and one tree, called a flying plum tree, is said to have followed him from Kyoto to Dazaifu in Kyushu when he was unfairly exiled there.
Cattle are considered the messengers of Michizane, as he was born in the Year of the Cow. That’s why statues of them are all over the place in the shrine ground.
When you visit Tenmangu, you'll see plum trees and cattle at same time.
